Carlos III, Son of Felipe V and of Isabel de Farnesio, was born the 20 of January of 1716. Duke of Parma and Plasencia, king of the Two Sicilies and of Naples from 1734 to 1759, date in which he succeeded the throne of Spain to his brother Fernando VI, after his death. In 1767 decreed the expulsion of the Jesuits, just as it had passed in Portugal and in France. Industrial policy broke the molds of the guilds that prevailed until then and protected private industry and the liberation of commerce with the Indies. It is also worth noting that Carlos III created the first state bank, the Bank of San Carlos, in 1782, and the first paper money, in its attempt to unify the monetary system. On December 14, 1788, at the age of seventy-three, Carlos III expired leaving his son and successor Charles VI, a policy and a renewed economy, thanks to his effective group of ministers.
